STORMY AFTERNOON TODAY (TUESDAY)

Slight Risk for Severe Weather for much of the Carolinas today.

As you can see many areas are in a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for severe weather today.

Clear skies will let our areas become very hot today and very unstable. Sun energy = storm energy. The more sun you get the more storm energy there will be.

A decaying line of storms is currently in Kentucky and this will serve as the focus for storms this afternoon.

Here is the HRRR forecast of this afternoon.

This first image is for 3pm. You can see the remnant line has fired new storms as it moves into unstable air over the mountains of TN and NC. This line will push east quickly through the afternoon.
