SEVERE WEATHER THREAT TODAY

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a good portion of NC in a slight risk for severe storms today. The main threat will be wind but some of the stronger storms could also contain some hail.

The HRRR and 3km NAM both show the best coverage of storms developing in Central and Eastern NC. Areas up near the Virginia border have the highest chance for severe storms with wind damage as this will be where some of the better dynamics will be.
